How the route fits together
Three nights in Bangkok, two by the sea at Khao Lak, then across to Vietnam and up it: three nights in Ho Chi Minh City and five in Hanoi. Every move after Bangkok is a short flight.
Bangkok has two airports
The flight from Bangalore lands at Suvarnabhumi. The flight on to Phuket leaves from Don Mueang, Bangkok’s other airport — easy to miss when booking, and a long way from the first.
Khao Lak from Phuket
Khao Lak has no airport; the nearest is Phuket, about 95 km and an hour and a half away by road. In the planner the Khao Lak stay carries Phuket’s airport code, HKT, which is how it knows the Phuket flights are the ones that get you there and away.
Before you book
The times in this plan are indicative. Timetables change, so check the current ones before you book. The flight home leaves Hanoi at 03:10, so the last night is a short one.
Check the entry requirements for your own passport with an official source before you go — for both countries. They are deliberately not written here: they change, and a wrong one would be worse than none.
