Taiwan itinerary: 11 days in Kaohsiung, Taichung and Taipei
11 days · 9 nights · 4 stays · sample itinerary
Eleven days up Taiwan’s west coast by high-speed rail: from the airport straight down to Kaohsiung in the south, then Taichung, and Taipei at the end — flying Thai Airways from Bangalore through Bangkok.
It is a sample itinerary — a starting point, not a timetable. The hotels, flights and trains are real; the trains’ arrival times and the split of the Taipei nights are approximate and marked so. Open it in the planner and it becomes a trip of your own, starting a month from today.

How the route fits together
The route runs the length of the high-speed line. Instead of starting in Taipei, it goes straight down to Kaohsiung on the afternoon of arrival and works back north — Taichung in the middle, Taipei last, closest to the airport for the flight home.
The high-speed rail
All three rail journeys are on Taiwan High Speed Rail. The departures in this plan — 16:20 from Taipei, 09:55 from Kaohsiung, 10:08 from Taichung — are real services; the arrival times are approximate. In Kaohsiung the high-speed station is Zuoying, not the city’s main station.
Two hotels in Taipei
The last four nights in Taipei are split between two hotels, two nights each. The split is illustrative — change it to suit.
Before you book
The times in this plan are indicative. Timetables change, so check the current ones before you book.
Check the entry requirements for your own passport with an official source before you go. They are deliberately not written here: they change, and a wrong one would be worse than none.
What the planner does with it
Open the plan and the planner reads the whole trip, including the change of planes in Bangkok on the way out and the gap between landing in Taipei and the train south. Every night has a bed and every move has a journey, so it has nothing to flag. Change a time and it will tell you when a connection gets too tight.
